We had planned on taking a hike around Mountain Lake. But, we saw a waterfall on the way to the turn-off, and it got our attention. As turned out, I didn’t like any of the waterfall photos. But, I did find a large number of other things that caught my attention, including many different mushrooms. This finally persuaded me that I needed to invest in some mushroom identification books and see if I could better understand some of the fungi that are so common.
